Properties of Medite Premier MDF Sheeting
We offer full-sized panels, cut to size pieces and shapes. Our standard Medite MDF panels are available in a range of thicknesses, from thin, 3mm MDF sheets to thick 30mm MDF with one of the most popular being 18mm MDF. The maximum sheet size available is 2440 mm by 1220mm.
You can fit an MDF board yourself with minimal tools and effort. MDF can be effortlessly and securely glued, dowelled, or fixed with screws, as it does not split easily. MDF is easy to screw and does not bend or crack, provided a sufficient distance from the edge is chosen, and appropriate pilot holes are drilled beforehand. Tongue and groove or tongue-in-groove are popular methods of affixing these boards, for example, in parquetry.

Standard MDF panels are not moisture resistant MDF, so they should be used indoors and sealed to protect the board from humidity so we recommenf MR MDF is better for this purpose. You can store MDF boards for extended periods, provided they are securely packed and protected from the elements.
