MDF, or Medium Density Fibreboard, is an engineered wood product. To create an MDF board, softwood fibres are broken down and combined with durable wax or resin to bind them together, which creates an exceptionally strong wooden panel. Properties of Veneer MDF Sheeting
We offer full-sized panels, cut to size pieces and shapes. Our Veneered MDF panels are available in a19 mm thickness. The maximum sheet size is 2420mm by 1200mm. Additionally, each wood variety can be chosen with a desired wood grain direction, for maximum customisation that fits your project. Veneered MDF can be stained and painted with appropriate paints and stains, so you can accomplish the desired finish with ease.
You can fit a Veneered MDF board yourself with minimal tools and effort. MDF can be effortlessly and securely glued, dowelled, or fixed with screws, as it does not split easily. MDF is easy to screw and does not bend or crack, provided a sufficient distance from the edge is chosen, and appropriate pilot holes are drilled beforehand.
Our cut to size Veneered MDF sheeting has a Fire Rating compliant with Euroclass D. The MDF boards which we supply are sustainably sourced, so you can enjoy an affordable, dependable wood product while knowing the environment was not harmed by its production.
Veneered MDF panels are not moisture resistant, so they should be used indoors, and the edges sealed (if a board without matching edges is chosen) to protect the panel from humidity. If you are looking for wood sheets designed to perform in humid conditions, we also offer panels for this purpose; Moisture Resistant MDF. Standard Premier Medite MDF is graded with a Euroclass D Fire Rating, but you can buy a Fire Retardant MDF, which will hamper the spread of fire by up to 30 minutes.
You can store MDF boards for extended periods, provided they are securely packed and protected from the elements.
